Define Clinic | Covid-19 Safety Measures
Your Appointment Safety Plan
Prior to Your Visit
To visit the clinic, you must be completely asymptomatic (free of fever, cough, altered smell or taste or breathing difficulties). You must not be self isolating due to symptomatic family members. Should any of the above apply, you must not attend the clinic, but please call or email for advice.
All required paperwork for the booked appointment can and should be completed electronically at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. We kindly request pre-payment to be made over the phone or by BACS to reduce cross infection risk by handling payment cards or cash.
Patients should brush their teeth and wash their hands thoroughly, prior to leaving home or work to attend the clinic and come directly to the clinic without visiting other locations.
If possible, please wear a face covering or mask. If you do not have these, one will be provided.
Please use the toilet prior to leaving home or work.
We ask that you visit the clinic alone with the exception of our younger orthodontic patients.
Our appointment schedule has been carefully planned to minimise patient contact, so in order for us to maintain social distancing and reduce the risk of transmission it is very important that you arrive on time for your appointment.
If you drive here, please use our private car park and please stay in your car. Let us know when you have arrived by calling the clinic and a member of the team will invite you to the main entrance. Please leave all personal items at home or in the car (such as coats, handbags).
At the entrance the door will be locked and our Receptionist will be waiting to ensure safe entry. She will take your temperature using a non-contact digital thermometer. Should this read over 37.8 degrees Celsius, you will be asked to return home.
We have hand sanitiser, gloves and masks (if required) at the entrance to the clinic.
You will be seated in your own waiting room ensuring you are not in contact with other patients.
During your Appointment
PPE and environmental measures are in place exceeding regulatory and governmental guidelines.
Your temperature may be retaken.
You may be asked to wear a protective apron.
You will be asked to rinse your mouth with an antiviral rinse for 1 minute.
We ask that you try not to touch your face during your visit. If required, we can disinfect your gloves using readily available hand sanitiser.
We kindly ask that you use the toilet at home prior to visiting the clinic, to avoid cross contamination potential, but if your appointment is lengthy and you need to use the facilities, they are available, fully disinfected and isolated from staff and other patients.
In order to minimise the amount of appointments you need to attend, we will endeavour to carry out as much treatment per visit as possible. This is to minimise your exposure to risk.
If possible, please avoid public transport.
A member of the team will contact you to schedule further appointments either by phone or email if required and to take any further payments over the phone or to arrange by BACS.
Should there be the need to settle any account using payment cards, we have Perspex safety screens at reception for protection. Pin numbers can be safely entered by hand sanitising prior or by using cotton buds to enter the numbers.
A waste bin is placed outside the clinic entrance for discarding your masks and gloves.
Your safety and confidence in coming back to the clinic is of paramount importance to us. We look forward to seeing you again. Please feel free to contact us if there is anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable.
