Hyperhidrosis Month

Hyperhidrosis Month
It’s finally November and we are nearly done with the year! Not only are we nearly one month away from Christmas but November is also Hyperhidrosis month. Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating that can affect the whole body or just certain areas. This condition can be extremely difficult for people to deal with and can affect their lives every day.

Every November, the IHhS ( International Hyperhidrosis Society) leads educational, supportive, and non-commercial efforts to champion the needs of Hyperhidrosis sufferers around the world. As a clinic, we are fully supportive of this awareness month and want as many people to know about this condition as possible.

What Can We Do For Hyperhidrosis?

Here at Define Clinic, we offer a treatment called miraDry. miraDry offers a non-surgical solution to both everyday sufferers of underarm sweating and Hyperhidrosis. It uses non-invasive heat energy to permanently destroy sweat glands under the arms, eliminating sweating and the odours that accompany it. The energy reaches a precise depth in the skin, eradicating sweat glands without damaging the lymph nodes or other surrounding structures. The sweat glands do not repair over time, making miraDry a permanent solution. Below are some of our most frequently asked questions regarding the miraDry treatment…

Is There Any Downtime?

MiraDry has minimal downtime attached to the treatment and some daily activities may be returned immediately after the procedure. However, patients should avoid intense physical activity for around a week.

What Are The Side Effects?

Patients can experience redness, tingling, tenderness, and itching in the area for a few days post-treatment. We recommend that ice packs and ibuprofen should be used for any swelling and soreness.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

One treatment is usually sufficient for an instant improvement and dramatic reduction in sweating. However, a small number of patients may choose to opt for a course of two treatments for maximum effect.

What Can I Expect From The Procedure?

The three steps to stop your sweating for good:

  1. Numb it! – The underarm area is numbed using local anaesthetic
  2. Mark it! – We carefully mark out the area to be treated using a temporary tattoo.
  3. Treat it! – The treatment is completely non-invasive and can take 25-30 mins per underarm. There may be a slight sensation of heat but should be pain-free.

How Much Does miraDry Cost?

We currently have an offer on miraDry at the clinic specifically for Hyperhidrosis month, with £500 off the original price. This leaves the final price at £1395.

If you are a sufferer of Hyperhidrosis and want to eliminate your underarm sweating, or you want to be sweat-free nonetheless, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us and get booked in for a consultation.
