It is officially Autumn! The days are getting shorter, the air is getting crisper and the leaves are starting to drop from the trees. We can begin taking full advantage of the sun starting to fade, with facial treatments for the skin. During the summer, it can be hard to abide by the laser rules of avoiding the sun at all costs and adding that extra protection.
Now that we’re in Autumn, we don’t have to be so cautious, as there aren’t going to be many of us still sunbathing in the colder months of the year (especially if you live in the UK!). Our most popular laser treatment at Define Clinic is the Sciton BBL and Moxi treatment and it works wonders on the skin. Both of which help to treat skin conditions such as sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne, scarring, rosacea and much more. If you were to get this treatment during the summer months, we would strongly advise you to avoid the sun, and whack on the SPF a lot more often than usual! However, now we don’t have to worry as much. We still need to wear our SPF every day and be cautious on sunny days, but generally, we should be much safer in the UK in Autumn/ Winter – which is great news for all the laser lovers out there!
Skincare products are another thing that needs to be re-looked at as we edge into the colder temperatures. Cold weather can be tough on the skin. The low humidity levels can draw moisture away from your skin, and leave it feeling dry and sensitive. A lot of people suffer from cracked and bleeding skin during these months too. One of the most important products to keep in mind during these times is a moisturiser! It is so important you have a good, rich moisturiser that keeps your skin feeling hydrated. That being said, a thicker moisturiser doesn’t always mean a better moisturiser.
Some of our favourites include the Obagi Hydrate or the Obagi Hydrate Luxe. Both of which provide ultra-rich moisturisation and rejuvenation, especially for extremely dry skin. They are also both designed for a variety of skin types. If your skin is acne-prone, then we would recommend the Alumier MD HydraSmooth. The HydraSmooth is an ultra-light product specifically formulated to restore clarity to acne-prone skin. Salicylic acid deeply penetrates the pores and helps to remove dead skin cells – the perfect help for the cold, dry skin a lot of us suffer from in these coming months.
If you feel your skin is struggling and needs some TLC, or you just want to treat yourself, why not book in for a facial at Define Clinic. Autumn/ winter skin is often dull, so we would recommend getting a facial every 3-4 weeks to maintain results. Regular facials will help to keep your skin clean, clear and hydrated. One of our top pics would be a Dermal Infusion facial. It’s one of our most hydrating facials, due to the serum that is injected deep into the skin which results in immediate, long-lasting results. Whilst infusing the serum, we also unblock your pores and exfoliate dead skin with gentle suction. A perfect Autumn/ Winter facial.
Give your skin the beautifying, replenishing treatments it deserves in these colder months. If you’re interested in any of the treatments mentioned above, contact our clinic in Beaconsfield today.
