What Sculptra Addresses

What Is Sculptra?
Sculptra is made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material used in medicine for decades, including in dissolvable sutures. It is manufactured by Galderma and approved for aesthetic use in the EU and UK.
When injected into the deep dermis, PLLA microparticles trigger a controlled response that activates collagen-producing cells. New collagen forms around the particles as they are gradually absorbed. The structural framework that supports the skin is rebuilt from within. What remains after the PLLA is absorbed is your own newly produced collagen.
Sculptra vs Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are placed to add structure or restore fullness in targeted areas, with immediate results that last 12 to 18 months. Sculptra works across broader areas, rebuilding the collagen framework that keeps skin firm and lifted over time. The two treatments complement each other well. Unlike HA fillers, Sculptra cannot be dissolved once injected.
What to Expect

Treatment Sessions
Injections into the deep dermis using a fine needle or cannula. Numbing cream applied beforehand. Our team massages the area during and after each session to ensure the product is distributed evenly. 30 to 45 minutes per session. Most patients require two to three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart.
After Each Session
Mild swelling and tenderness at injection sites settle within a few days. Massage the treated area five times a day for five days after each session. This helps distribute the product and reduces the risk of nodule formation. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
Results
Most patients begin noticing improved firmness four to six weeks after treatment. The full result from a course develops over three to six months after the final session and lasts up to two years.

This was my first time ever getting any cosmetic procedure done, and I’m so glad I chose to have this experience done at define with Rosie. Going into my appointment, I was feeling a little apprehensive as to how my results were going to turn out. I just wanted something to help get rid of a few lines on my forehead without anyone noticing that I had anything done. Rosie took all of my points into consideration and she exceeded my expectations. Not only did she try to calm my nerves by bringing me water and making sure my experience was enjoyable, she also made sure that I was completely comfortable with everything she was doing and she made sure that I had all the knowledge I needed before I continued with the procedure.
One thing I will say about define, it’s a little on the pricier side however, it is worth every penny. You are paying for quality and good results!
