All You Need To Know About CoolSculpting
Heard of CoolSculpting but have no idea what it is?
CoolSculpting, also known as cryolipolysis, is a fat reduction technology that uses freezing cold temperatures to break down fat cells. As fat cells are susceptible to the effects of cold, freezing them helps eradicate them whilst sparing the surrounding skin and other cells.
CoolSculpting allows patients to target specific areas of fat and in particular areas of the body which seem resistant to diet and exercise. The fat cells are broken down and removed from the body via natural processes over a period of up to 6 months. Clients see incredible results, without having to go “under the knife”. CoolSculpting is the gold standard in non-surgical fat reduction.
How popular is CoolSculpting?
Extremely popular! Since it was approved by the FDA, almost half a million treatments have been performed globally. It is now seen as one of the most popular fat reduction options and our patients are loving their results.
And more importantly, WHY is CoolSculpting so popular?
Because it works! It’s also a great alternative to fat reduction surgery such as liposuction. Compared to CoolSculpting, liposuction is more costly, is a longer procedure and requires a lot more aftercare. CoolSculpting can target virtually any part of your body including stubborn areas of fat such as the chin and under the arms.
CoolSculpting can produce incredible results. Results are permanent and benefit both men and women.
Is there anything worth noting before you go ahead and book?
Yes, absolutely. One of the biggest misconceptions surrounding CoolSculpting is that it is a weight-loss treatment. This is not the case! This treatment shows the best results in people that follow a healthy lifestyle and want to shift stubborn pockets of fat. CoolSculpting is not ideal for someone who wants to lose a lot of weight or wants a quick-fix option. A good example of an ideal candidate would be someone who is experiencing a mummy tummy – stubborn fat that has been formed by loose skin due to pregnancy. An additional example would be someone experiencing underarm fat, also known as ‘bingo wings’.
Despite there being minimal downtime, there may be some discomfort during and after the procedure. This is generally due to the ‘cooling’ effects. At Define Clinic, our aesthetics team are experts in the science of CoolSculpting and will ensure to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
Each patient is assessed for suitability during an in-depth initial consultation. We ensure patients have all the information necessary and the opportunity to ask questions before committing to any treatment. We then are able to produce a bespoke plan that considers your unique body type.
