Non-surgical rhinoplasty? Tell me more!
One of the hottest topics for discussion is the non-surgical rhinoplasty. It’s all over social media for a variety of reasons and we’re going to dive into why it’s so popular.
The treatment is a very quick process taking a mere 20 minutes!
A popular question we often get asked is which product is being used to make the nose appear straighter? And the answer is filler – Hyaluronic acid is injected into the nose – the same product used for facial fillers such as the lips and cheeks.
A common confusion is how this would make the nose appear. Surely if you’re putting filler into the nose it would make it bigger… technically this is true. We are essentially adding to the nose but using experienced techniques, the filler can fill a bump in the nose to make it appear straighter. It can also be used on the tip of the nose to give it a more lifted look. It can also be used to create a much smoother, cleaner bridge of the nose. There are many options when it comes to this treatment.
You’re probably thinking, an injection in the nose… ouch! But at Define Clinic we use small amounts of anaesthetic cream to make the treatment more comfortable. Patients often say that non-surgical rhinoplasties aren’t exactly comfortable – but they’re not painful either.
Another pro for the non-surgical route is that it is fully reversible. Unlike the surgical rhinoplasty, you can have the filler dissolved if you weren’t happy with the results, or you can wait for the filler to dissolve naturally in 9-18 months. It is near enough impossible to reverse the results if it has been done surgically!
Another popular question is how long do the results last? This completely depends on the individual. The same goes for any filler treatment. Our bodies break down the filler at their own pace. Some people may need a top up in 6 months, for others it can last for up to 18 months.
Safety is our number one priority here at Define Clinic and the non-surgical rhinoplasties are only carried out by our experienced and fully trained doctors, including Dr Benji Dhillon. It is so important to see someone experienced as non surgical rhinoplasties are a high risk procedure.
